Like any normal middle aged man, I recoiled in terror when my wife suggested I go and talk to someone to help me through what was clearly my midlife crisis. For the sake of my marriage, however, I agreed to go along and talk to my identified ‘life coach’. With the benefit of hindsight, it proved to be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
It soon became clear that my brain had become a ball of wool – all the strands of my life intertwined in a huge mess. I was paralysed with fear of changing the status quo in case everything fell apart, but deep down I knew I wasn’t happy.
The power of coaching enabled me to pull each strand out of my head one by one, eventually realizing where the real problem lay. The transformative effect of this process made me realise that I would love to help others to make sense of the ‘clutter’ in their heads, so I signed up to learn how to become a coach.
In particular, I think this process can help to clarify the work / life balance, which for any entrepreneur is a daunting place to explore.
”Anthony’s a clear thinker, a straight talker and is ridiculously good at communicating with customers in an engaging (and often light-hearted) way. He has an impressive track record of building long-term customer relationships with every business he’s ever been involved with. Very few people have the ability to cut through complexity to identify what really matters and how best to do it”.
